Billy Gatlin

Funeral services for Billy Gatlin, 77, of Troup, will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, November 1, 2019, at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Sonny McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup. Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Mr. Gatlin was born February 3, 1942, in Eustace, Texas, to the late Freddie Lester Gatlin and Eugenia Chandler Gatlin. He passed away on October 28, 2019, in Troup, Texas. He was a member a deacon at the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church, and a volunteer fireman for Troup, for many years. He married Loyce Cook November 5, 1960.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Gordon Gatlin.

Survivors include his wife Loyce Cook Gatlin of Troup; children, Jerry Dale Gatlin and wife Stephanie of Troup, Anita Tipton and husband Mike of Troup, Jimmy Gatlin and wife Katie of Troup; sisters, Betty Jean Walker and husband Terry of Oklahoma, Dorothy Thomas and husband Bob of Seagoville; 10 grandchildren, Twoby Gatlin, David Gatlin, Justin Gatlin and wife Jennifer, Chelsea Isaacks, Ethan Isaacks and wife Courtney, Megan Tipton, Gilbert Gatlin, Mariana Gatlin, Jennifer Gatlin, Jelacy Gatlin; 2 great grandchildren, Jaxon Gatlin and Pruitt Gatlin.

Pallbearers will be David LaMotte, Joe LaMotte, Bobby LaMotte, Bo Steele, Billy Gatlin and Tracy Gatlin.

Honorary Pallbearer will be Larry Murray.

Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Thursday, October 31, 2019, at the funeral home.
