Alice "Tutt" Dowdy

Alice “Tutt” Hemby Dowdy, 89, of Whitehouse, Texas, went to be with the Lord on January 2, 2026, in Bullard, Texas. She was born August 25, 1936, in Smith County, Texas, to the late Marvin “Bully” Hemby and Edna Estelle Eidson Hemby.

Funeral services for Alice Dowdy will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2026, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at 1:00 pm, prior to the service.

Alice worked as a Clerk for Blue Flame Propane for many years. She loved her family, loved spending time with them and enjoyed fishing.

She is preceded in death by her husband Alton, parents, sister Bonnie Sanders, grandson Jeff Dowdy, and great-grandson Josh Dowdy.

She is survived by her daughter, Nadine Hall (Melvin); sons, Eddie Dowdy (Lesa), and Davy Dowdy (Darla); grandchildren, Jerod Kersh (B.G.), Justin Kersh (Kasie), Taylor Epperson, Clint Dowdy, Nicki Douglas (Mike), Colton Dowdy (Emily), David Dowdy, Kaitlin Mitchell and Paiton Mitchell; great-grandchildren, Kamryn Kersh, Cooper Kersh, Mason Kersh, Kristian Kersh, Lincoln Kersh, Maryn Kersh, Ty Dowdy, Elissa Douglas, Michael Douglas, and Harper Durham; great-great-grandchildren, Camdyn Epperson, and Jax Epperson; sister, Carolyn Higgins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
