Mrs. Pressley had a true servant's heart. Whether it was cooking for some "little ol' widow ladies at the church", making peanut brittle for the doctor's dad, baking pecan tarts, cookies, or yeast rolls, for the pastor, or simply cooking for someone she didn't know but heard they may want or need of a show of love, Cary was there. If someone needed advice or a shoulder to cry on, she was there. Someone who was overwhelmed with life in any way, you could count on Mom/Mammaw/Mrs. Pressley. Something that she could not fix, prayer was the answer and she would relentlessly carry that need to God. Thankful. Meek. Humble. Faithful. A friend, confidante, counselor, provider, and so much more...that is our Mom/Mammaw/Friend.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Marvin Pressley; daughter, Geraldine “Jerry” Clark; sons, Paul Pressley and Larry Pressley; grandsons, Paul Pressley, Jr., David Wilson, Kenneth Pressley, Marvin Pressley, and Joe Pressley; great-grandsons, Austin Combs and Michael Musick.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Pressley Wilson of Troup and Linda Cooper of Henderson; son, Charles Pressley and wife Cynthia of Price; sisters, Christine Wood of Central, South Carolina and Corrine Nelms of Weaverville, North Carolina; 23 grandchildren; 55 great-grandchildren and 64 great-great-grandchildren.
