Charles Michael Boone, 82, of Arp, Texas, passed away on January 23, 2026, at Hospice of East Texas. He was born on November 18, 1943, in Tyler, Texas, to the late William Boone and Annie Scroggins.
Funeral services for Charles Michael Boone will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton, Texas. Visitation for family and friends will be held before the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Charles was a dedicated employee of Brookshire’s for more than 34 years, known as a loyal and valued member of the team. He was admired for his kind heart, gentle spirit, and the warmth he showed to everyone he met, a true blessing to all who knew him.
Charles proudly served his country for over six years. He served three years in the United States Navy, followed by three additional years in a special unit in the reserves based in Texas, all with honor and dedication. A hardworking man throughout his life, Charles also cherished quiet moments of rest and joy, especially spending peaceful days fishing on the lake.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Janice Boone; his daughter, Leah Howard-Mohammed and husband Chad of Houston, Texas; his sisters, Carolyn Boone of Dallas, Texas, and Charlotte Gann of Las Vegas, Nevada; his grandchildren, Zachary Howard and wife Veronica, and Trevor Howard; and his great-grandchildren, Kayleigh, Jason, and Gracelyn Howard.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Howard, Trevor Howard, Vincent Wright, Chad Mohammed, and Tracy Dailey.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton, Texas.
