Clara Catherine Knox went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 1, 2023. She was born April 7, 1929, to Cap and Catherine Castelberry in Wise County near Decatur, Texas on the family farm where she grew up.
She graduated from Slidell High School, Class of 1946/1947 before moving to Fort Worth. She was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company for 25 years and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She attended Bible Baptist Seminary in 1948 and 1949 and met the love of her life Glenn Knox in 1949. They were married 63 years at the time of his death in 2012.
Her philosophy in life was Philippians 4:8 "Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think of these things."
Clara loved the Lord and loved being a pastor's wife for over 40 years. She said it was very rewarding and an honor. Her mother taught her to play the piano when she was 3 years old. She loved music, especially gospel music, and played the piano in church since she was 9 years old. She was the pianist at Bible Baptist church from 2001 to 2021 when her health began to decline. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her beloved Son Claude. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Sandra Ferguson of Pikeville Kentucky, Sarah Martin of Azle Texas, Martha Freeman of Decatur Texas, and many other wonderful family members whom she loved. She is survived by her 4
Grandchildren Heather Evans, and husband Calvin Evans of Arp Texas, Heath Knox and wife Deena of Tyler Texas, Stephen Knox, and Stuart Knox. She also has been blessed with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends, all of whom she loved very much.
