Claude Dee Furqueron, Jr.

Claude Dee Furqueron, Jr., age 86, of Arp, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2024.

Claude was born in Bradley, Arkansas on September 18, 1937, to the late Claude Dee Furqueron, Sr. and Edith Haley Furqueron. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. After his career in the United States Navy, Mr. Furqueron worked in the oilfield, transportation, and property management businesses. He had a green thumb and loved gardening and fishing. Many times, you would catch him drawing pictures and cracking pecans. In his last years, he spent his time writing a book.

Claude is survived by his children; Jessie Furqueron and Pauline of Allen, Texas; Dennis “Bubba” Furqueron and Debbie of Arp, Texas; Cindy Carter and Joe of Longview, Texas; Buddy Furqueron and Amy of Tyler, Texas; Janelle Davis of Dallas, Texas; Mary Melcher and Tony of Kilgore, Texas; 22 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Claude is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda Vitito Furqueron; children Venita Gaye Furqueron; Jody Furqueron; and Carl Dee Furqueron; and siblings; Carl Furqueron; Ruby Powers; Donald Furqueron; Christine Golden.

Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday July 25, 2024, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton, Texas with Reverend Jason Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens in Henderson, Texas.
