Cody Wayne McCabe

Cody Wayne McCabe, 31, of New London, passed away on April 26, 2026. He was born on March 16, 1995, in Tyler, Texas, to David and Lynn McCabe. Funeral services for Cody Wayne McCabe will be held on Saturday, May 16 2026 at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home in Overton. Cody worked mainly in the oilfield. He was also a welder and spent many summers building fences alongside his dad. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, riding four wheelers and dirt bikes, working on small engines, and spending time outdoors. He had a soft spot for animals and brought numerous strays home over the years. Cody had the personality of a true jokester and was always looking for a way to make people laugh. His sense of humor, quick wit, and playful nature brought a smile to those around him and created memories that will never be forgotten. Cody was an organ donor. Even in his passing, he was able to help others. Above all, Cody loved his family and cherished his role as a father to his son, Theodore. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include his son, Theodore McCabe of New London; his mother, Lynn McCabe of New London; brother, Jonah Holt and wife Angie of Austin; brother, CJ McCabe and wife Kristen of Henderson; brother, Adam Williams and wife Haley of Gilmer; Uncle Duane Cooper and companion Rachel Murray of Tyler; Uncle Mike McCabe and wife Barbara of Chapel Hill; cousin, Emily Underwood of New London; along with numerous extended family members and friends. Cody was preceded in death by his father, David McCabe; paternal grandparents, Charles and Rochelle McCabe; maternal grandparents, Willie and Bobbie Cooper; Aunt Belinda Scott; Uncle Steve Scott; and cousin Matthew Scott.
