Funeral services for Don E. South will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Cottle Funereal Home Troup, Texas with Pastor Chase Smith officiating. Burial following at Ebenezer Cemetery, Arp, Texas. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, February 9, 2026, at Cottle Funeral Home.

Don was born February 27, 1934, in Smith County, Texas and went to be with Jesus on February 4, 2026 in Troup, Texas.

Don worked for GE/Trane Company for 31 years. He loved fishing and spending time with his family. He will be forever missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Bryon and Rena Hudnall South, wife Judy South, step-daughter Jennifer Ann Brown, brothers, LaRue South and Harold South.

He is survived by his children, Gregory South and wife Denise, Donna Karen Williams, Lyddia Clanton and husband Gregg; step-son Michael Powell and wife Alean; sister, Myrtle Tharp and husband Roger; grandchildren, Christina Shaw and husband Adam, Amanda Clanton, John Williams and wife Tammie, Jared Williams, Joseph  Williams and wife Shannon, Jamie Satchell and husband Clayton; step-grandchildren, Sean Powell, Chloe Powell, Jacob Brown, Lauren Gonzalez and husband Ulises, Michael Powell, Calyn Goodrum, Brianna Wilkie, and Audree Hinkle; great-grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Easton Williams, Ellie Williams, Edward Satchell, Henry Satchell, Bryanna Parish, Bryson Parish, Katelyn Wyatt, Dylan Wyatt; step-great-grandchildren, Emma Gonzales and Uyay Gonzales; his faithful pet, Shiloh; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
