Donny Loyd Cook, 69, of Troup, Texas, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2022, in Troup, Texas.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 13, 2022, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Funeral services for Donny Cook will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 14, 2022, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, with Reverend Sonny McFarland officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup.

Donny was born in Athens, Texas to JD and Juanita Weatherford Cook on December 12, 1952. He married Earnestine Stark on July 8, 1972, in Old Ocean, Texas. He worked in construction for many years. He was a member of a Baptist Church. He loved his family with all of his heart.

Donny is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Johnny Cook, Jimmy Cook, and David Cook, and 1 sister, Judy Gant.

Donny is survived by his wife Earnestine Cook of Troup; children, Nancy Cook of Troup, Renee LaMotte and husband David of Troup, Donny Cook, II, of Troup; sisters, Cookie Gatlin of Troup, Mary Johnston and husband Bill of Louisiana, Patricia Law of Murchison, Debbie Tucker of Murchison, and Marsha Stark and husband Aaron of Murchison; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Donny Cook, II, Nathan LaMotte, Patrick Kemp, James Kemp,  Nicholas LaMotte, and Bobbie Cook.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gatlin and Nancy Cook.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
