Dorothy Lacy

Dorothy Marie Lacy, 80, passed away on August 21, 2025 in Troup, Texas. She was born January 9, 1945, in Atlanta, Texas to the late Abraham and Carrie Dell Field Persinger.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She worked as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service in Troup, Texas for 25 years. After retirement, Dorothy worked for Cottle Funeral Home in Troup for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mixon. To know Dorothy was to love her. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents, son, William Glenn (Bill) Lacy, brother, David Abe Persinger and sisters, Mable Persinger Sayes, and Peggy Persinger Estes.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 61 years Jerry Glenn Lacy of Troup; daughter-in-law Aida Lacy-Vance and husband Russell; grandchildren, Katherine Lacy and husband Colton Lackey of Troup, and Tiffany “Tiff” Lacy of Troup; great-granddaughter, Kamryn Lacy; sister-in-law, Bobbie Persinger of Whitehouse; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Dorothy Lacy will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup with Reverend Preston Lindsey officiating.

Visitation will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Under directions of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, Texas.
