Douglas Lloyd Williams

Douglas L. Williams was born July 27, 1935, in Smith County Texas; he joined Jesus on January 27, 2023, at the age of 87 years and 6 months.
Doug was a committed Christian, loving the Lord, his family, and Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher. He also traveled to Brazil, Mexico, and Ecuador to share his love of Christ through construction projects and VBS. He retired from United Technology Corp. after 42 years of service.
He enjoyed raising Hereford cattle, and especially enjoyed seeing his cattle being shown by 4-H members; even giving young heifers to those showing for him.
Doug loved all sports, especially football; going to most Arp ISD games until health issues prevented his attendance.

Doug is survived by his wife of 63 years, Carol Ann Moffitt Williams; children, Sedrone Harwell of Arp; Dr. Montza Williams and wife Faith of Arp; and Todd Williams of Rockwall. Grandchildren Jolynn Cash and husband Jake of Rockwall; Jacob Harwell and wife McKenna of Denton; Garrett Williams and wife Emily of Ft. Worth; Dr. Katie Chase and husband Erik of Copperas Cove; Stoker Williams of Dubai, U.A.E.; Boaz and Zella Williams of Rockwall; and five great-grandchildren as well as multiple nieces and nephews..

He was preceded in death by his parents Olie and Pearl Williams, brother and sister-in-law Howard and Louise Williams and a grandchild Elle Williams.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, February 5, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church with family visitation following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church for Middle East Missions.
