Edith Emily Warbington, 93, of Cypress (formally of Troup), Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on February 21, 2024. She was born on April 4, 1930, in Clarksville, Texas, to the late Willie Estel and Ada Belle Carpenter McDonald.
Funeral service for Edith will be held 11:00 am, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home with Tommy Harden officiating. Burial will follow at the Johnson Family Cemetery in Arp, Texas.
Edith was a current resident of Cypress, Texas where she enjoyed spending time with family and gardening. She was a member of Champion Forest Baptist Church and, regularly attended meetings at the Prayer Barn.
Edith considered Troup, Texas her home, where she lived for many years. She was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church where she loved signing in the choir and teaching Sunday School. She owned Edie’s Stop and Shop and was a member of the Arp Chamber of Commerce.
Lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tina Davis of Cypress, TX, brother, Bill McDonald of Mars Hill, NC. Grandchildren: Pamela Loyer, Jerry Wayne Johnson, Jr., Christie Thomas, Charlotte Runyon and husband Eric; and T.J. Davis; Great Grandchildren: Jake, Seth, Alyssa, Emily, Tara, Molly, Morgan, Megan and Jack; Great-great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents, daughter and son-in law, Vallery and Jerry Johnson; Brother, M.E. (Bud) McDonald, Sister and Brother-in-Law, Leona and Charles Davis and Sister, Jane Rutledge.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
