Elizabeth Ann Jones

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Ann Jones, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, who passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 83. Elizabeth's life was one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family, which was her heart and soul.

Born on October 7, 1941, to Walter B. and Clara M. (Wright) Burchfield, Elizabeth was the epitome of warmth and generosity. She worked tirelessly in the manufacturing industry, including check printing, but her true work of love was the care she gave to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Every moment of her life revolved around them—her greatest joy was being surrounded by her loved ones.

Elizabeth had a passion for life and for the simple joys it brought. She was a natural gardener, nurturing flowers and plants with the same care she gave to her family. She loved the outdoors, especially camping and fishing, where she could be found happily baiting her own hooks and teaching others the joys of nature. Her spirit was one of adventure, and her generosity was unmatched—whether it was lending a helping hand or sharing a home-cooked meal, Elizabeth made everyone feel welcomed and loved.

An unwavering fan of country music, Elizabeth was a huge Toby Keith enthusiast. She fondly called her homemade beans and hamburger dish Toby Beans, a meal she often prepared for the man himself. That kind of spirit, that connection, and that down-to-earth warmth are what made Elizabeth so special. She loved a good laugh, a great song, and, most importantly, her family.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved son, Ronnie Jones. She leaves behind her children, Bobby Burchfield (wife, Dawn), Donny Jones, John Jones (wife, Linda), and Scott Jones (wife, LaNeigh). She was the proud grandmother of Bobby Jr., Theresa, Jesse, Jessica, Dawna, Bradley, Katrina, Brittani, Miles, Mallory, and Laura. Her legacy continues through her many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, who will forever carry her love in their hearts.

She is also survived by one sister, Sue Sears, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members, all of whom were blessed by her kind and giving nature.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 21, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cottle Pearson Funeral Home, 905 South Commerce St, in Overton Texas, with a graveside service at Overton City Cemetery in Overton Texas immediately following at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ron Klingsick will officiate.

Elizabeth’s life was a beautiful reflection of love, kindness, and devotion to family. She leaves behind a legacy of cherished memories and will forever be in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Elizabeth, and know that your love will continue to bloom, like the flowers in your garden, for generations to come.
