Eugene Toole, a devoted husband, loving father, cherished Papaw, and faithful servant of God, went home to be with the Lord on December 17th, 2024. Eugene’s life was a testament to love, friendship, hard work, and unwavering faith.
He leaves behind his soulmate, Rhonda, with whom he shared 44 blessed years of marriage. Together, they lived a life full of adventure. He is also survived by his son, Brandon, and daughter-in-law, Desirea, along with their three children, Riley, Jace, and Kyler; his daughter Hannah and son- in- law Chris, with their two children, Colton and Hudson; and lastly his baby girl, Brittani. Eugene was also a father figure to countless others who needed guidance, love, and encouragement.
Eugene was known for his tireless work ethic. He took pride in being challenged by projects and enjoyed the skill of being a heavy equipment operator. A true outdoorsman, he loved golfing, fishing, and soaking in the beauty of God’s creation. He was also an old-school gamer who rarely turned down a game of pinochle, dominoes, or any chance to catch every football game on TV. Above all, Eugene cherished time with his family, who were the heart of his world.
Known as a best friend to more people than most of us will ever know, Eugene’s kind spirit and open heart left a mark on everyone he encountered. His greatest joy was sharing the love of Jesus, and he never missed an opportunity to tell someone about the hope and salvation found in Christ.
Eugene’s life was a living example of generosity, faith, and devotion to others. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched.
A celebration of his extraordinary life will be held on December 21st at Whitehouse First Assembly. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor the incredible man Eugene was.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Friday, December 20, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, Texas.
