Eva Jean Johnson

Eva Jean Johnson, 97, of Troup, passed away on October 16, 2023, in Troup, Texas. She was born on May 17, 1926, in Atoka, Oklahoma, to the late Richard Frank Vaughn and Gladys Marie Merrell Vaughn.

Funeral services for Eva Johnson will be 1:00 pm, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, Texas with Brother Nathan Adams and Brother Jerry Wayne Johnson officiating.

Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm, Friday, October 20, 2023, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, prior to the service.

Eva was a resident of the Troup community and a member of the Church of Christ Church. She loved reading, puzzles, playing games on her I-Pad, and loved traveling when she was younger. She was faithful to attend church and reading her Bible. She enjoyed spending time with his family.

Eva is survived by her children, Brenda Kenyon of Troup, Tx, Debbie Mitchell of Troup, Tx, and Linda Montgomery and husband Jack of Celina, Tx; daughter-in-law, Nell Johnson of Troup; sister, Delores Renfro of Thackerville, Ok; 18 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and 60 great-great-grandchildren.

Eva is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Maurice Edward Johnson, Sr., sons, Maurice Edward Johnson, Jr., and Jerry Johnson.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
