Frances B McMillan

Frances McMillan, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, was born on July 19, 1931, in Garrison TX to Virgil Fancher and Hattie Mae Byars Fancher. She lived a life centered on faith, family, and service to others.

Frances was known for her generous heart and her love of cooking. She found great joy in feeding family, friends, and anyone who crossed her path. She also enjoyed reading and spending time working crossword puzzles. Her kindness, warmth, and welcoming spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

A devoted Christian, Frances spent her life serving the Lord through Bible Baptist Church, where she was a founding member and remained faithful throughout her years. Her love for God was evident in the way she lived and cared for others.

Frances was also a dedicated business owner who proudly owned the City Cafe. Through her delicious meals and homemade treats, she served her community with love and hospitality, creating a place where people gathered not only for good food but also for friendship and fellowship.

She shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Joe McMillan. Together they built a life filled with love, devotion, and cherished memories.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Hattie Fancher; her beloved husband, Joe McMillan; her brother, Billy Fancher; her sister, Mildred Allison; and her son, Dewayne McMillan.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Mitchell and Alton of Sulphur Bluff, Texas, and Gail Gipson and her husband Thomas, of Overton. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were blessed by her love, wisdom, and unwavering faith.

Frances’s life was a testament to Christian faith, hard work, and selfless love. Her legacy will live on through the family she cherished, the community she served, and the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Pallbearers will be Cody Dunn, Kelly Dunn, Jeremy McMillan, Jerrad McMillan, Chase Duncan, and Lane Duncan. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mark Duncan.

Funeral services for Frances McMillan will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2026. at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., prior to the service.
