Frances Wheeler Obituary

Ms. Frances Lynn “Mimi” Wheeler, née Carpenter, passed away on November 27, 2025, in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 64. Born on April 3, 1961, in Santa Monica, California, Frances lived a life marked by deep family bonds and cherished friendships.

Frances was a devoted mother and grandmother whose love for her family was evident in every aspect of her life. She is lovingly remembered by her two daughters: Megan Light of Odessa and Sabrina Wrinkle and husband Jerry of Lindale; and her two sons: Brandon Wheeler and wife Jessica of Tyler, and Justin Wheeler and wife Jenna of Twin Falls, Idaho. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren Carter and Mackenzie Healer, J. P. Wheeler and wife Alissa, Braylen and Jaydin Wheeler, ShyAnne Ball, John Smith and wife Nicole, Kenny Smith and wife Serena, Christopher Wrinkle and three great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.

She also leaves behind her beloved mother Julia Bryant of Odessa; sisters Debbie Line, Tammie Harris and husband J.M. of Odessa, Sandra Marion and husband Spencer of Burnet; and brother David Bryant and wife Andrea of Goodyear, Arizona. Frances’s extended family includes numerous nieces and nephews who will remember her warmth and kindness.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Joe Marlin Wheeler, her daughter Stacey Lynn Ritter, as well as by her father Francis Leroy Carpenter and W. Carter Bryant.

For the past six years, Frances made her home at The Heights in Tyler. There she found not only a place to live but a community where she formed lasting friendships. She especially enjoyed doing diamond art—a hobby that reflected both her creativity and patience—and playing games with fellow residents. These simple pleasures brought light to her days and created memories that will be treasured by those who shared them with her.

Frances’s life was one filled with love for family, quiet joys, and enduring connections. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on December 2, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church 13108 State highway 64 E.
