A Celebration of Life for Gary Fields will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Rucker Cemetery, Troup.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, April 27, 2022, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Gary was born in Tyler, November 1, 1954, and passed away April 24, 2022, in Troup.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, John and Bertha Colby Fields, and twin brother, Jerry Fields.
Gary is survived by his wife of 47 years Terri Cannon Fields of Troup; sons, Bobby Fields of Troup, and Steven Fields and wife Laurel and granddaughter, Elowyn Elise Fields of Troup; sister, Linda Smith of Troup; brother, Jimmy Fields and wife Terri Ann of Troup; Numerous other family and friends.
To summarize Gary’s life is impossible, but to know him was to know, Gary Roy Fields was a man with a great heart. A consistent friend, a loyal provider, and an example of strength. A servant to those in need, leader to those who were lost. His love never had to be said, it was in his actions, and his actions always surpassed expectations.
Gary was a member and past master of Henry Marsh Bill Lodge #1371. He was a very enthusiastic lover of Lynyrd Skynyrd and old cars. He was best known for his 4th of July BBQ’s which he looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed.
Pallbearers will be Josh Hawkins, Brad Hawkins, Chris Jennings, Russell Wilson, Tommy McClain, Oscar Trejo, Steven Fields, and Bobby Fields.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
