A kind, sweet, and pleasant soul, a devoted father, husband, and a loyal countryman. George lived to make his family, community, and country proud of him and worked hard to ensure that the legacy he left behind was one that was looked back upon with fondness due to his compassion for his fellow man. He was a devoted soldier in the United States Army for over 20 years, serving in various capacities in Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. He was active in his church and community of Overton and was ever-present, along with his adoring wife, Ana Gomez, in his children’s scholastic, athletic, and social lives. He adored his family, his country, his Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas A&M Aggies.
He is preceded in death by his father, Luis Ramirez.
He leaves behind his devoted wife of 24 years, Mrs. Ana Gomez, sons Justin(19) and D'Artagnan Gomez(18), and daughter, River(11), mother Carmen Ramirez, sister Carmen Alicia and Jose Delgado and various close relatives and friends that will miss his mild-mannered demeanor and the pleasant way with which he engaged you whenever he saw you.
“La paz os dejo. Mi paz os doy.”
My peace I give to you. My peace I leave you with.
