George McDonald Obituary

George “GW” William McDonald, 83, of Troup, Texas, went to be with the Lord, on August 20, 2022, in Sunnyvale, Texas.

A Celebration of Life for George “GW” McDonald will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 24, 2022, at First United Methodist Church of Troup with Reverend John Thomas officiating.

GW was born in Dallas County, Texas to George Washington and Annie Merriman McDonald on June 25, 1939. George was a veteran of the United States Army. He retired as a Lead Warehouseman at A.H. Robbins. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Troup. He loved his family with all of his heart.

GW is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mary Yvonne Owens McDonald, daughter, Shelli McDonald and siblings, JoAnn Davenport, George Ronald McDonald, Vicki Ruth Broussard, and Robert Carroll McDonald.

GW is survived by his children, D’Ann McDonald Bramlett and husband Mike of Garland, TX, Robyn McDonald Nakonechnyj and husband Tony of Tarpon Springs, FL, Gary Wayne McDonald of Athens, TX; 3 grandchildren, Nickolas Nakonechnyj and wife Kelly of McKinney, TX, Drew Bramlett of Irving, TX, and Robert Nakonechnyj and wife Alicia of Springhill, FL, and great-granddaughter, Emma Sophia Nakonechnyj.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
