Glenda K (Carpenter) Pierson

Glenda Pierson, 73, of Overton, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 20, 2023, On her Late Husband’s Birthday. Glenda passed peacefully , surrounded by her family and friends , in her Daughters home in Longview, TX. She was born on October 16, 1949, in Kilgore, Texas, to the late Fred J. Carpenter and Ledell Dorsey Carpenter.

Glenda married the love of her life John Carl Pierson in 1979 and they had 49 beautiful years together before he passed in 2022. Together they raised four children. Glenda loved to play bingo, going to the casino, scratching off lottery tickets, and she was very Lucky. She will be missed in the days ahead by her family and friends.

Funeral services for Glenda will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at Cottle- Pearson Funeral Home. The visitation will be Friday, September 1st, from 5:30- 6:30pm. Service will be officiated by Rev. Farrell Alexandra.

Glenda is proceeded in death by her Parents; Fred J. Carpenter and Ledell Dorsey Carpenter; Husband; John Carl Pierson; Brother; James "Sambo" Carpenter; Sister; Gloria Cubine; and Daughter; Christy Lynn Pierson.

Glenda is survived by her Children; Kim Machen and Husband Ray of Longview, TX, John Christopher Pierson of Overton, TX, and Jason Franklin Pierson and wife Jessica of Kilgore, TX; Mother of two Grandsons; Melinda Castillo; 11 Grandchildren; Jacob Machen, Brandon Pierson, Christopher Pierson Jr, Katelynn Melton, Ryder Rushton, Nathan Pierson, Jayden Pierson , Chelsea Pierson, Addison Pierson, Harper Pierson,  and Millie Pierson. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
