Guy "Buddy" Leonard Turner

Guy Leonard “Buddy” Turner, 86, of Troup, Texas, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2021, in Troup, Texas. He was born December 14, 1934, in Houston, Texas, to the late Guy Idis and Willia Mae “Billy” Russell Turner.

Funeral services for Buddy Turner will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 23, 2021, at Cottle Funeral Home Chapel, with the Reverend Lynn Ashcraft officiating. Burial will follow at Bradford Cemetery, Troup.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Buddy was self-employed, in Industrial scales. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troup. He enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was also a cabinet maker, woodworker, and knife maker. He loved and cherished his family with all of his heart.

He is preceded in death by his wife Bennie Ruth Turner and grandson Caleb Turner.

He is survived by his daughter, Vicki Stanaland of Chandler, son Roland Turner and wife Diana of Troup, daughter, Gwen Turner of Chandler, Alex Turner and wife Lori of Arp; brother, Robert Turner and wife Debra of Troup; 6 grandchildren, Mandy Smith, Denise Harned, Arion Crater, Katie Turner, Kara Jennings, and Madison Turner; 12 great- grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Hammonds, Josh Hammonds, Justin Hammonds, Wayne Sanders, Bobby Turner, and Shawn Turner.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
