Helen Ferne Davis

Helen Ferne Davis, 90, of Arp, Texas, went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022, in Eustace, Texas. She was born, July 28, 1931, in Oklahoma to the late John and Delphia Bartlett.

Funeral services for Helen will be at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Wright City Baptist Church, with Reverend Richard Boone and Reverend Rohn Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

Helen was a member of Wright City Baptist Church and was also a member of Eastern Star. She worked as a bookkeeper for the oilfield until she retired. Larry and Helen loved to travel and went all over the United States in their motor home. She loved the Lord and loved her church, where she played the piano and organ since she was 12 years old. She was a loving wife and mother, who will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Dewayne Davis, son, John William Davis, brothers, Everett Bartlett and Raymond Bartlett and sister, Hazel Bartlett.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Dianne Ballard (James) of Eustace; son, Michael Larry Davis (Colleen) of Royce City; daughter, Sheryl Ann Davis Snow (Jefferey) of Tyler; brother, Jackie Bartlett of Crane; sister, Opal Shuttlesworth of Arp; daughter-in-law, Sheila Davis-Dennis; grandchildren, Brandy Michelle Moore, John Kevin Johnston, John William Davis, Jr., Justin Davis, Raegan Jackson, Matthew Smith-Davis, Dallton Snow and John Snow and numerous great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
