Henry (Sonny) Louis Gill, Jr.

Henry (Sonny) Louis Gill, Jr., 89, of Henderson, passed away on July 20, 2020, in Henderson, Texas. He was born January 12, 1931 in Rusk County to the late Henry Louis Gill, Sr., and Julia Dunklin Gill.

Graveside services for Sonny Gill will be 11:00 am, Friday, July 24, 2020, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, New London with Reverend James Palmer officiating.

Visitation will be 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Thursday, July 23, 2020 at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.

He was a member of the Turnertown Baptist Church and loved gospel music and witnessing to others. He loved to play 42, go fishing, loved to play outdoor games with all the children and absolutely made the best coconut cream pies.

Preceded in death by his wife, Ola Gregg Gill; sons, Ronnie Gill, and Tommy Ray Gregg; daughter, Cheryl Jones; brother, Marlin Dunklin and sisters, Martha Zimmerman, Mary Webster, and Judy Sayler.

Survivors include his children, Toney Gregg of Tyler, Dale Gill of Illinois, Danny Gill of New London, Donnie Gill of Kilgore, Lydia Barnes of New London, Katherine Stevenson of Tyler, Cindy McGee of Bullard and Patsy Norris of Prichette; brothers, Oran Lee Gill of Louisiana and Roy Gill of Longview, Washington; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
