Jacob "Jake" Wise

Jacob Z. "Jake" Wise, 73, passed away on August 12, 2025 in Tyler, Texas. He was born January 20, 1952, in Coushatta, Louisiana, to the late George and Maitland Allums Wise.

Jacob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He worked as an entrepreneur for many years, Jake and Laverne founded Nortex Services in 1999. He was an airplane pilot, enjoyed flying and a self-proclaimed airport bum. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Jacob is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Bo Wise, Paul Wise, Nathan Wise, and Mary Ann Wiggins and Mark Wise.

Jacob is survived by his wife Laverne Wise, children, Stephen Meche of Baton Rudge, Louisiana, Jason Wise and wife Rebecca of Whitehouse, Crystal Warren and husband Doug of Wills Point, and Heidi Walker and husband Brad of Flint; sister, Marjorie Clemons of Louisiana, 11 grandchildren, Amber Shults and husband Colbey, Jaron Wise, Ava Wise, Brandon Hatten and wife Hannah, Clayton Hatten and wife Kirsten, Aubreyanna Hatten, Charleigh Warren, Hunter Walker, Corgan Walker, Maverick Walker, and Olivia Walker; 1 great-grandchild Cooper Hatten, and one great-child on the way; multiple adopted grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jacob Wise will be at 10:00 am, Friday, August 15, 2025, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Reception to follow at Jake and Laverne’s Residencce.
