Jacqueline Reddic Roy

Mrs. Jacqueline Reddic Roy (age 89) was born on May 22, 1937 in Henderson, Texas to 

the late Money Preston Reddic and Effie Kate Manns Reddic.  She peacefully departed 

this life on Wednesday, June 3, 2026.

She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend

whose love, wisdom and guidance touched the lives of many.  Above all, she loved the

Lord and faithfully served Him throughout her life.  She worshipped and worked 

diligently in support of numerous churches over the years sharing her faith through 

service, compassion, and dedication to her community.  Her strong Christian values and

caring spirit were evident in the way she lived and cared for others.

Jacqueline valued education and lifelong learning.  She graduated from Kilgore Colored 

High School in 1955 and went on to earn her Associate of Arts degree in Secretarial

Science in 1957 from Texas College.  Her commitment to excellence and service carried 

throughout her personal and professional life.

She was a dedicated employee who retired from Kilgore College in 1998 after many years 

of faithful service as a library clerk.  She also worked at Jarvis Christian College as a 

secretary and McMillan Memorial Library located in Overton, Texas.  She took great 

pride in her work, and formed many lasting friendships throughout her career.

Jacqueline was preceded in death by her parents Money Preston Reddic and Effie Kate 

Manns Reddic; Chester Roy (husband) and James E. Clayborn (former husband); her

sisters, Louise Reddic Roy of Ft. Worth, Texas; Rosie Reddic Jones of Ben Wheeler, Texas; 

brothers, Joe Lewis Reddic and J.T. Reddic both of Overton, Texas.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory two sisters; Vastine Reddic Cicero and 

Anna Reddic Brown (William) both of Tyler; sons, James E. Clayborn II (Laura) of

Murphy, Texas; Earnest Roy (Yolanda) of Arp, Texas; Samuel Roy of Arp, Texas;

and daughter, Loretta Roy of Missouri City, Texas.

She is also survived by her grandchildren; Preston Clayborn and Alexander Clayborn of

Murphy, Texas; Schalanda Roy and Samuel Roy of Arp, Texas, and Tristan High of Missouri

City, Texas; great-grandchildren, Micayah Tate and Kaleb Tate of Arp, Texas; Khloe Roy

of Tatum, Texas; and Zion, Isaiah and Isaac High of Missouri City, Texas.

In addition, she leaves a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family

members and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Jacqueline's legacy of love, faith and family will continue through the generations she 

leaves behind.  Her warm spirit, gentle heart, steadfast faith and unwavering devotion to 

her family will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

missed beyond measure."
