James Eldridge Farmer, 84, of Lindale, passed away on May 18, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. He was born April 5, 1936 in Omen, Texas to the late Oren Eldridge Farmer and Effie Lou Farmer.
Funeral services for James Farmer will be 2:00 pm, Friday, May 22, 2020, at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church, Arp, Texas, with Doctor Reverend Ron Klingsick officiating. Private family burial will be at the Mason Cemetery.
Visitation will be 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Friday, May 22, 2020 at Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. Anyone entering the church will be required to wear a mask.
He was married to his wife, Barbara Farmer for 12 years. He worked as a sheet metal worker.
Preceded in death by wife, Laverne Farmer; 2 sisters, Helen Ruth Tingley and Lou Ann Glover.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Farmer of Lindale; 2 sons, Jimmy Farmer of Lindale, and Dwayne Farmer and wife Cheryl of Ben Wheeler; 5 step-children, Cathy Brown of Mesquite, Carole Rapp of Lindale, Cynthia Weeks of Virginia, Craig Foster of Montgomery and Connie Owens of Kerrville; 1 sister, Lela Mae Johnston of Arp; grandchildren, Jeremy Duane Farmer of Lindale, Judge Dillon Farmer of Lindale and Holly Nicole Redferd of Gatesville and 6 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
Everybody entering the church is required to wear a mask.
