James Earl Piland

James Earl Piland, of Gladewater, Texas, passed away on November 14, 2024, in Tyler, Texas. He was born on August 23, 1973, in Dallas, Texas, to the late Mickel Duan Piland, Sr. and Linda Kathryn Gilliam.

A Memorial Service for James Earl Piland will be held privately by his family.

James was an electrician by trade but could tackle any project thrown his way. He was a carpenter, a painter, a devoted Christian and an avid fisherman. However, his biggest achievement was being the best Dad to his children.

James survived by his children, Tyler Chiasson of Gladewater, Tx; Desire Piland of Liberty City, Tx; Mary Piland of Liberty City, Tx; and Timothy Piland of Liberty City, Tx; his grandchildren, Cason David Chiasson; Denice Rose Grier; Elijah Taylor Morris; Douglas James Chiasson; his ex-wife, Rebecca Larson; his sister, Sheila Stiles (husband, Scott); and lots of nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Mickel and Linda Piland; his son, James Earl Piland II; his sister, Merry Denice Brady; and his brother, Mickel Duan Piland.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas.
