James Edward Stanton

James Edward Stanton was born November 17, 1936, in Troup, Texas to Willie and Bennie Stanton. Passed from this life on April 4, 2023, at the age of 86.

James was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Bennie Stanton, brother Elmer Stanton, sisters Sible Evans, Ruby Fitzgerald, Betty Martin, Willie Mae Fitzgerald, Mildred Smith and granddaughter Krystal Stanton.

Survived by wife Janet of 61 years, daughter, Debbie Wilkins of Whitehouse, son, Roger Stanton and wife Charla of Whitehouse. Grandchildren Stephanie Barnes, Jessica and husband Steven Baker, Corey and wife Katherine Stanton, and Laura Stanton. Brother JT and wife Pat of Whitehouse, sister Modell Holman. Numerous nieces and nephews. Great Grandchildren Bryson Perry, Trenton Green, Trevor Green, Nathan Green, Abby Baker, Addison Baker and Lucas Scott Stanton.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, April 6, 2023, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup. Visitation will be 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Burial to follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Michael Pless, Corey Stanton, Bryson Perry, Steven Baker, Trenton Green and Trevor Green.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
