Jasen Thomas McCommas

In loving memory of Jasen Thomas McCommas, who passed away on June 13, 2026, at the age of 46.

Born on December 9, 1979, in Lubbock, Texas, Jasen was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished son, brother, nephew, and friend whose presence filled every room he entered. Known for his deep, unmistakable ‘Barry White’ voice, quick wit, and unforgettable sense of humor, Jasen carried many of the same qualities as his beloved grandfather, Max Austin — especially the ability to make people laugh and put others at ease.

Jasen was born to Jonee Austin and Kirk McCommas, and throughout his life, family remained at the center of who he was. He deeply loved his wife, Tami, and his daughters, Hanna and Kara, who brought immense pride and joy to his life. Of all the roles he held, being a husband and father was among the most important to him.

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Jasen became a plumber and owner of Waterworks Plumbing, building a career marked by hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship. He took great pride in his work and in serving others, always willing to lend a helping hand and never hesitating to show up for those in need.

Beyond his profession, Jasen was a gifted artist whose creativity reflected a quieter side of who he was. Whether through laughter, storytelling, or his artistic talents, he left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to know him.

Jasen is survived by his wife, Tami Love McCommas; his daughters, Hanna and Kara McCommas, all of Troup; his mother, Jonee Austin of New Braunfels; his father, Kirk McCommas of Waco; his brother, Brad McCommas and wife Jeannette of Tyler, and their children, Maximus, Briella, and Camilla; his half-brother, Alex McCommas, and stepmother, Paula, of Waco; his aunts, Leanne Ford (Bernie) of Lubbock and Amy Kenney (Chris) of Highland Village; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

Jasen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Max and Jerry Austin of Troup, and Jan and Mac McCommas of Killeen, who undoubtedly welcomed him with open arms.

Jasen will be remembered for his humor, his larger-than-life presence, his artistic spirit, and, most of all, the deep love he had for his family — especially his girls. Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, the memories, laughter, and love he gave so freely will remain in the hearts of those who loved him forever.

The family plans to hold a memorial service to celebrate Jasen’s life at a later date. Additional details will be forthcoming.
