Jean “Punk” Jones, 87, of Arp, Texas, went to be with the Lord on August 24, 2022. She was born March 11, 1935, in Wright City, Texas to the late Charlie and Faye Grandstaff.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at South Main Church of Christ, Henderson.
Funeral services for Jean “Punk” Jones will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 27, 2022, at South Main Church of Christ in Henderson, with Reverend Bob Payne officiating. Burial will follow at Rusk County Memorial Gardens, Henderson.
Punk married Raymond “Bubba” Jones on March 22, 1956, in Nuevo Laredo. She worked at Pope and Turner in Overton and enjoyed spending time with her family and taking care of her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She lived in Arp for 63 years and was a true Arp Tiger fan. She was a member of Whitehouse Church of Christ, and formerly a member of Henderson Church of Christ for many years.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Ramona Swain, and brother Buddy Grandstaff, grandson Reuben Jones, and husband “Bubba” Raymond Jones.
She is survived by her 2 sons, and daughters-in-law, Donnie, and Theresa Jones of Arp, and Brad and Beverly Jones of Arp; daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie, and Gary Stout of Whitehouse; brother, Dale Grandstaff of Overton; 11 grandchildren, Kristi Pierce, Shanna Williams, Billy Stout, David Jones, Donnie Jones, Jr., Tara Jones, Nadia Allmon, Austin Jones, Austin Lee, Brandi Jones, and Ellen Newbury; 18 great-grandchildren with one more due in March.
Pallbearers will be David Jones, Donnie Jones, Jr., Austin Jones, Billy Stout, Kevin Pierce Jr., Lee Williams, Tyler Allmon, Jaxon Jones, and Austin Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Lipscomb, David Bain, Sonny Lee Stallings, and Scott Barton.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
