Jewell Stanger received her angel wings on July 7, 2021. Everyone who knew her knew that she was her grandkids #1 Fan! She was the strongest, yet kindest woman and would do anything for anyone. Jewell was born on October 7, 1929, in Atlanta, Tx. She was the 11th of 12 children born to John and Lessie Lewis. She grew up in Atlanta and graduated from Atlanta High School when she was 16 years old. She was a phenomenal cook and owned her own cafe in Mt. Pleasant Tx - “Jewell’s Country Kitchen”. She was also an exceptional bowler and enjoyed league play for several years. She eventually got her real estate license and owned her own real estate business, “Jewell Stanger Real Estate”. She loved helping people find their perfect home. She also loved to travel, especially when she could get away with her sister, Shirley. They always dressed like twins and had a ball wherever they went! There has never been a “sister bond” any stronger than the bond those two shared. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She traveled to EVERY event, no matter the distance. Every one of her grandchildren have stories they can share about the many fun times with Mama Jewell and things she did for them. She was definitely a unique lady who gave her all in every situation…. especially family. Holidays, especially Christmas, were her all-time favorite! She loved nothing more than cooking a huge meal and spending time with all of her most treasured blessings...her children and grandchildren. There were multiple desserts as she always had to make each person’s favorite!

Misty would also like to send a special thanks to Quality Care Home Care. Geneva Kincade has been a true blessing to our family. She provided excellent care for both my mom and dad, but she has cared for my mom for several years and I cannot thank her enough for all of her love and support during this time. I would also like to mention and thank Mary, Patricia, Keisha, and Lisett for helping Geneva care for my mom. I will miss you all dearly but please know that I will never forget you!
