Judy South

Judy Ann South, 77, passed away on August 21, 2025 in Troup, Texas. She was born September 2, 1947, in Smith County, Texas to the late Homer L., Sr. and Ruth A. Shaver McClendon.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a housewife. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.

Judy is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Jennifer Ann Brown, sisters, Betty Hukill, Alice Graham, Kathleen Frizzel and brothers, Luther McClendon and Homer McClendon.

Judy is survived by her husband Don South; son Michael Powell and wife Alean; grandchildren, Sean Powell, Chloe Powell, Calyn Goodrum, Brinna Wilkie, Audree Hinkle, Jacob Brown and spouse, Lauren Gonzalez and husband Ulises; great-grandchildren, Emma and Uyay Gonzalez; 3 step-children, Gregory South and wife Denise, Donna Karen Williams, Lyddia Clanton and husband Gregg; step-grandchildren, John Williams and wife Tammie, Jared Williams, Joseph  Williams and wife Shannon, Jamie Satchell and husband Clayton, Christina Shaw and husband Adam, Amanda Clanton; step-great-grandchildren, Bryanna Parish, Bryson Parish, Katelyn Wyatt, Dylan Wyatt, Henry Satchell, Edward Satchell, Ethan Williams, Easton Williams,  and Ellie Williams.

Funeral services for Judy South will be at 10:00 am, Monday, August 25, 2025, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Visitation will be 9:00 am to 10:00 am, prior to the service.
