Lawrence Gentry Cannon

Lawrence Gentry Cannon, 77, of Troup, passed away on December 1,2023 in Troup Texas. He was born on September 28,1946 ,in Kensing Tx, to Gentry and Annie Cannon. 

A visitation for Lawrence Gentry Cannon will be held at Crossbrand Cowboy Church in Tyler, Tx , at 10:00 am, Wednesday December 6,2023. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 am. Rev. Mike Marrow will be officiating. Interment will follow at WIlliams cemetery in Chapel Hill, Tx. 

Lawrence married the love of his life Debby on September 01,1994. Lawrence and Debby were married for over 29 years. 

At 17, Lawrence joined the United States Marine Core. During that time he fought in the Vietnam war. He retired from Kelly Springfield after 17 years. Lawrence will always be remembered for his sense of humor and the love he had for his family. Lawerence’s relationship with Jesus was reflected in the way he lived his life and treated others. Lawrence and Debby were members of Crossbrand Cowboy church where he served on the facilities team. 

When Lawrence wasn't working, he spent time with this family working around the ranch or in his woodshop. He loved to go fishing, hunting, and getting together with family and friends. Sundays were meant for Jesus and The Dallas Cowboys game.  

Lawrence was preceded in death by his father Gentry Cannon, Brothers Robert and Ronnie Cannon, and 2 sons Eddie and Larry Cannon. He survived by his loving family including Wife; Debby Cannon; Children; Justin Cannon and wife Sierra of Lindale,Tx;Jennifer Palmer of Mt. Vernon, Oh, Jessie Willis and wife Chrissy of Round Rock,Tx , and April Keith of Gilmer, Tx; and Mother; Annie Cannon of Grand Prariie,Tx. Brother Kenneth and Beckie Cannon; Sisters Comedra and Glen Daniels; and Connie and Doyle King. Along with 18 Grandchildren,7 great grandchildren and numerous neices and nephews who adored him. 

A million times I miss you A million times I will cry. If love alone could have saved you. You would have never died. In life I loved you dearly, in death I love you still; In my heart you hold a place No other once can fill. The golden gates stood open God saw you needed rest. He gently took you to a life of peace and happiness.
