Linda Steel

Linda F. Steel, 82, of Waco (formally of Troup), Texas, passed away on January 31, 2024, in Waco, Texas. She was born on January 29, 1942, in Henderson, Texas, to the late John Elliott and Opal Elizabeth Gibson Fitchett.

A Celebration of Life for Linda Steel will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup, Texas with Tommy Williams officiating.

Linda was a resident of the Waco community, and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She was formally a member of Bible Baptist Church, Overton. She retired from Texas Orthopedic Services, where she worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant.

Linda is survived by her children, SCPO (Ret) Joseph Varcasia and wife Lara of Crawford, Mary Varcasia of Tyler, daughter-in-law, Barbie Varcasia of South Haven, MS; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, W.A. Steel and wife Dottie of Red Springs, Blake Steel and wife Ewina of Indianapolis, Indiana, Bobby and Penny Steel; stepdaughters and stepsons-in-law, Cynthia Staples of Whitehouse, Linda Green and husband Ronald of Sulphur, OK; 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband J.B. Steel, sister Brenda Williams, and son Louis Varcasia.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
