Margaret Jane Toole, 94, born in Roby Texas, November 13th, 1929 to the late Alta and Horace Hogan, passed away peacefully with family by her side on November 22, 2023, in Carrolton Texas.
Margaret was a bright light to anyone that knew her with her big smile and “Well and Happy” attitude.
She was a trail blazer when she became a barber in 1961 to work alongside her husband, Eugene Toole, at their Toole Barber Shop downtown Troup until 1992 when they moved to Grand Prairie to retire. Margaret was an active community leader involved with Eastern Star, The Assembly of God Church, The Troup Garden Club and named “Woman of the Year” in 1993 by the Troup Business and Professional Women.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Alta and Horace Hogan, of Roby Texas, her husband C.E. Toole and her grandson, Mike G. Toole II of Plano Texas.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by her daughter, Eugenia J. (Paul W.) Leim from Franklin Tennessee. Son,
Michael G. (Tricia) Toole of Plano Texas. Margaret is also survived by grandchildren, Paul J. Leim (Erika) of Las Vegas NV, Joshua E. Leim (Keely) of Chattaroy WA, Kristin R. (Steve)Corrao of Colbert, WA, Bonus grandchildren Pierce (Kathrine) Bradford of St. Paul Texas and Lacy Bradford (Dustin) Poole of Ft. Worth, TX and 14 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at Cottle Funeral Home in Troup on Friday, December 1, at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Joshua Leim officiating, with the burial following at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup.
"In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice."
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
