Mario Catania Obituary

Mario Catania, beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away in Tyler, Texas, on January 3, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Mario was born to Rafael and Vita Catania on May 4, 1938, in Sicily. He moved to the United States when he was 13 years old and lived a long and beautiful life here. Mario loved his country and proudly served in the United States Army for two years. In November of 1964, he married his wife of over 58 years, Vita Catania. Together they raised their children in New York and later retired to Sedona, Arizona. The final months of his life were spent in Texas. He loved God, his Family, his country, and President Donald Trump.

Mario’s sense of adventure was infectious and was at his happiest hiking the Red Rocks of Sedona and exploring the world around him. His generous smile and kind nature made it easy for many to love him. He is survived by his wife Vita, children Denise and Rafael, grandchildren Samantha, Dakota, Carlos, Daniel, and Nicole.
