Mary Lou Fanning, 73, of Troup, passed away on November 30, 2023, in Troup, Texas. She was born on March 10, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to the late Horace Sealy and Willie Mae Saunders Council.
Graveside services for Mary Fanning will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 5, 2023,at Mayfield Cemetery, Troup.
Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Monday, December 4, 2023, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Mary was a resident of the Troup community her entire life and she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her brother, Ralph Council of Tomball; her daughter, Charlotte Reneau of Troup; stepson, Tony Fanning, daughter-in-law, Janet Williams, grandchildren, Sean Reneau and wife Amie of Henderson, TX, Corey Reneau of Buras, LA, Amber Reneau of Troup, TX, Zachary Reneau and wife Victoria of Troup, James Anders of Terrel, TX, Joni Taylor of Tyler, TX, Jonathan Paul, Anders and wife Amanda of Willspoint, TX, Jessica Fanning of Hawkins, TX; 14 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Sister in Christ, Martha Reneau and honorary grandchildren, Kristin Trull of Troup and Travis Baird of Mixon, TX.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents, her soulmate, George Fanning, brothers, Melvin Council, Marvin Saunders, son, Michael Williams, granddaughter, Hailey Reneau, great-granddaughter, Harmony Reneau, and son-in-law, Eric Reneau.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
