Mary Evelyn (Mer) Parish, 88, of Omen, passed away on August 10, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. She was born March 19, 1932 in Arp, Texas to the late Noel W. Taylor and Dollie Vessie Jones Taylor.
Graveside services for Mary Parish will be 10:00 am, Thursday, August 13, 2020, at Mason Cemetery, Arp, Texas with Reverend Dr. Ron Klingsick officiating.
She married the love of her life, John Edward (Ed) Parish on October 15, 1950 in Ashdown, Arkansas. She was a member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing bingo and enjoyed coloring and painting. She worked as a teacher’s aide for Arp Elementary for 23 years.
Preceded in death by her husband, John Edward (Ed) Parish, son, Noey Parish, sisters, Becky (Clara) Hardy, Mildred Allen and Edith Jackson, brother, Jon Taylor, and great granddaughter, Kensington Grace Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Dena Parish Locklear and husband, Richard of Arp; son, Andy Parish and wife, Kay of Overton; 6 grandchildren, LeAnn Locklear, Lacey Locklear George and husband, Christopher, Joshua Parish and wife, Meagan, Kristen Parish McGee and husband, Brandon, Amy Smith and husband, Lucas and Weston Hesterly and wife, Emily; 10 great grandchildren, Hunter Parish Curry, Bowen George, Kaden Parish, Korbin Parish, Kasyn McGee, Kinslee McGee, Levi McGee, Caseton Smith, Koleman Hesterley and Kade Hesterley .
