Melinda Gail English

Melinda Gail Morris English, 61, of Arp, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 4, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. She was born November 28, 1959, in Overton, Texas to the late Dewayne Morris and Bettie Martin.

Funeral services for Melinda English will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Lakeview Community Church, Tyler, with the Reverend Leon Batchelor officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery, Troup.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, November 8, 2021, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Melinda was a retired business manager for Arp ISD, she was also a substitute teacher. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing crossword puzzles, cooking, reading, gardening, watching her birds, her favorite book was, “The Painted House”. She loved going to watch her grandchildren play sports. She never met a stranger, she loved people and spending time with her friends. She was a member of Lakeview Community Church, Tyler.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Tommy Teel.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years James English of Arp; children, James Douglas English of Tyler, Melinda Perez and husband Ruben of Pearland, Tx, Shawn Ishee and wife Jessica of Arp, Jason and Samantha Ishee of Arp; brothers, Rusty Alan Morris and wife Lacy of Lindale, Ricky Morris and wife Toby of Hallsville; sister-in-law, Linda Seale and husband Charles of Wright City; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Derrick Ishee, Zach Batie, Blaine Morris, Logan Morris, Hunter Gentry, and Justin Johnson.

Honorary Pallbearers Ethan Gentry, Braxtin Ishee, Cash Ishee, and Brandon Costa-Ishee.
