Michael David Stephens

Michael “Mike” David Stephens, 67, of Troup, Texas, passed away on February 21, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. He was born February 14, 1954, in San Antonio, Texas, to Jake and Elece Trantham Stephens.

Mike was a United States Veteran of the Navy. He was a retired perfusionist for the East Texas Life Support for 30 years. He married the love of his life Janet April 1, 2017. He was a member of American Legion Post # 418, and a member of the Gospel Barn Church, both of Troup. He loved listening to music, playing music on his guitar and he loved his family with all of his heart.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jake Stephens.

He is survived by his wife Janet Stephens of Troup; son, Waymon Stephens and wife Micah of Lufkin, TX; daughter, Megan Stephens of Lufkin, TX; sister, Gayle McDonald, and husband Mike of Troup; mother, Elece Stephens of Troup; grandson, Sawyer Stephens; stepdaughter, Stacy Hays and son Ashton Hays; nephews, Matthew Martin, Brandon Martin; nieces, Stacy McDonald and Stephanie Dingler; numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
