Nelda Dowdy Sadler, 84, of Tyler, passed away on June 8, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. She was born September 28, 1935, in Troup, Texas to the late George Dowdy and Lillian Shuttlesworth Dowdy.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Rose Heights Church, Tyler, with Reverends Doug Anderson and Darrell Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup.
Visitation will be 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, on Friday, June 12, 2020, at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
Nelda worked for Levi Strauss sewing factory for many years and she was a member of Rose Heights Church, Tyler. She was involved in WM’s (Women’s Ministry’s). She married Billy Sadler on May 30, 1953.
She is preceded in death by her son, Carl Sadler, sister and brother-in-law, Myrtle and George Hamilton, and brother, Edward Leon Dowdy.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Billy Sadler of Tyler; son, Randy Sadler and wife Meggie of Tyler; daughter, Laressia Weatherford and husband Lee of Bryan; sister-in-law, Mary Dowdy of Bullard; 8 grandchildren, Amanda Galloway, Leann and husband Dr. Greg Freimer, Randall Sadler, Ashley Foster, and Brady Burks and Hallie, Salina Duffy and husband Corey, Charles Sadler and wife Shauna, and Chris Sadler; 15 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Glen Dowdy, Paul Dowdy, Johnny Dowdy, JR Dowdy, Gary Hamilton, and David Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Roy Harris, David Dickson, Donald Weeks, and Greg Hibler.
The family would like to express their sincere love and thanks to all the Hospice nurses, caregivers, and Chaplain. Especially, Adrian, Crissy, Amber, Tommy and Andy, our angels here on earth.
