Opal Mae (Bartlett) Shuttlesworth

Opal Mae Shuttlesworth, 97, of Arp, went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 08, 2023. She was born in Yale, Oklahoma on November 12, 1925, to the late John and Delpha Bartlett.  She Married the love of her life, O.D. “Red” Shuttlesworth on March 25,1946 and together they had six children. She was a Member of Arp Emmanuel Baptist Church. She deeply loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her family, traveling with her husband, Word Search puzzles, WWE, and Shopping. 

Visitation for Opal Shuttlesworth will be from 10:00 am-11:00 am, and Service to follow at 11:00 am on Thursday, May 11, 2023, at Cottle Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas with Reverend Ron Klingsick officiating.

She is Survived by her Children; Gloria Cook and Husband Terry of Arp, Tx; Billy Ray Shuttlesworth and Wife Janet of Arp, Tx; and  Dicky Shuttlesworth and Wife Barbara of Arp, Daughter-in-Law; Mary Ruth Shuttlesworth; Tx ; Brother; Jackie Bartlett and Wife Carol of Crane, Tx.                                                                                                                                                                                 Eight Grandchildren; Sam Ducksworth and Wife Donnane, Blaine Ducksworth and Wife Crystel, Chris Shuttlesworth and Wife Mandy, Carrie Washburn and Husband Kevin, Jason Luce, Ashley Durrett and Husband Ronnie Jr, Shelby Brown and Husband Justin, and Haley Elliott and Husband Colby.                                                                                                                                           13 Great Grandchildren; Emma Ducksworth, Kayleigh Shuttlesworth, Macey Ducksworth, Maykenzi Thomas, Callie Brown, Kenley Durrett, Aubrey Elliott, Kollyn Durrett, Logan Shuttlesworth, Damien Ducksworth, Levi Thomas, Tripp Durrett, and Carter Brown.

She is Preceded in Death by her Husband of 55 years, O.D. “Red” Shuttlesworth; Sons; Donald Ray Shuttlesworth, Jerry Don Shuttlesworth, and Ricky Dewayne Shuttlesworth; Grandson; Heath Shuttlesworth; and Great Grandson; Cole Ducksworth.                                         

 Funeral services are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton, Texas. The interment will be at Union Grove Cemetery, Troup, TX.
