Ray Nell (Robinson) McCommon

Ray Nell Robinson McCommon, 86, of Overton, Texas, went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2022, in Lindale, Texas. She was born December 3, 1935, in Overton, Texas to the late Raymond and Ruth Robinson.

Funeral services for Ray Nell McCommon will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, with Reverend Atwell Hankins officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home.

Ray Nell graduated from London High School and went on to receive her associate's degree from Kilgore College, bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University, and her master’s degree from U.T. Tyler. She enjoyed playing the piano for several local churches and she was very passionate about genealogy research. She was an avid reader and loved spending time in the library. She worked as the librarian at Leverett’s Chapel ISD and later retired from there.  She was a member of London Baptist Church in New London. She was also a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, East Texas Genealogical Society, Friends of the McMillan Memorial Library, and was a board member of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Glenn O. McCommon.

She is survived by her daughter, Misty McCommon, and her fiancé, Patrick Ronaghan of Hideaway; 2 grandchildren, Whitney Wallace of Tyler and Kenzie Wallace of Hideaway, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Pleasant Hill Cemetery Association.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
