Graveside services for Rayford “Dean” McKnight 75, of Arp will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Mason Cemetery, Arp, Texas with Reverend Gary Wheeler officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Mr. McKnight passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at a Tyler hospital. He was born March 25, 1946 in Arp to Vader and Lela Swink McKnight. He was a lifelong resident of Arp and married Gloria Jean Huddle in 1962, he retired from McKnight Construction and is a member of the Canton Masonic Lodge #98. After retirement he enjoyed spending his time gardening or doing woodwork, he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a blessing to all who knew him and will forever be remembered for the happiness he brought to others.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria McKnight, father Vader McKnight, mother, Lela Swink McKnight, sister, Margie McIntosh and brothers, Clement, and Phil McKnight.
Survivors include his wife, Mary McKnight of Arp, son, Randy McKnight of Arp and daughter and son-in-law, Carla McKnight, and Kenny Knight of Big Sandy. Grandchildren Amber Steele of Tyler, Bryan McKnight of Longview, Brent, and Brandie McKnight of Mt. Vernon and Hannah Davis of Henderson, great-grandchildren, Reagan Higgs, and Raylee Steele of Tyler.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Lyles, Eddie Lynn Calicutt, Steve Braswell, Jack Lacy, Randy Lyles, Kenny Knight, Les Carpenter, and John Perdue.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
