Richard Ray Riggs, Sr., 98, of Troup, passed away on January 11, 2024, in Troup, Texas. He was born on January 18, 1925, in Camden, Arkansas, to the late Milas Ray Riggs and Threda Louise Norris.
Richard was a resident of the Troup community, and he loved his grandchildren, reading and traveling. He was an electrical engineer, and a veteran of the United States Marines. He was Christian and loved his family with all his heart.
Richard is survived by his children, Richard Ray Riggs, Jr. and wife JoAnn of McKinney, Jhonne Elaine Jones and husband Stan of Driftwood, Judy Daniel and husband John of Troup, Alvin Lee Riggs and wife Vickie of Spicewood, Darla Janine Jewell and husband Jesse of Gordon; 16 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Edwina Riggs.
