Robert LaCoe Obituary

Robert E LaCoe, age 90, of Kilgore, Texas, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Scrantron Pennsylvania to the late Elwood and Blanche Lacoe.

Robert was a proud patriot who honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, attaining the rank of Major. He carried the values of service, integrity, and dedication throughout his life and was admired for his strength of character, unwavering devotion to his family, and steadfast faith.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ellen Annette LaCoe, with whom he shared many cherished years of marriage. Though he deeply missed her, he continued to be the loving patriarch of a large and devoted family.

He is survived by his three daughters, Leigh LaCoe Gibbs & husband Jimmy from Overton, Linda LaCoe of Houston and Lissa Sanders & husband Rob of South Dakota, who were the pride and joy of his life. He also leaves behind six grandchildren: Paige Kauffman, Matt LaCoe, Madeline Martin, Emily Liggett, Sam Rebollar, and Shelby Gibbs Ortiz.

Robert was blessed with seventeen great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy: Ella Poppy Kauffman, Campbell James Kauffman, Rory Elizabeth Kauffman, Katherine Kauffman, Dean Liggett, Cooper Liggett, Everleigh Liggett, Bennett Liggett, McKenzie Martin, Elizabeth Martin, Charlotte Ortiz, Sutton Ortiz, Kallie LaCoe, Matthew LaCoe, Michael LaCoe, Markus LaCoe, and Maxwell LaCoe.

To know Robert was to know a man of honor, kindness, and quiet strength. He treasured time with his family and leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and faith that will continue through the generations that follow him.

A graveside service celebrating Robert's life will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Henderson, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Turnertown Baptist Church, in honor of Robert's life and faith.

Robert's memory will forever be treasured by those who loved him, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
