Robert M. Jones

Robert Marion Jones, 78, of Arp, passed away on November 20, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. He was born February 6, 1942 in Overton, Texas to the late Robert (Doc) and Lila Jones.

Graveside services for Robert Jones will be 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New London with Brother Bo Stevens officiating.

Visitation will be 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. Monday, November 23, 2020 at Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.

Robert married the love of his life, Glenda on August 8, 1965 in Arp, Texas.  He was self-employed as a brick mason and retired after 50 years. He was a member of the Lion’s Club, Brick Layers Union, and a member of the Troup Church of Christ where he was an elder and the song leader. He loved to sing and play the guitar and mandolin. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Jones of Arp; daughters, Angie Wilson  of Arp, and Michele Brigance and husband Keith of Arp; son, Jason Jones and wife, Samantha of Austin; brother, Tim Jones and wife, Sharon of Henderson; sister, Lou Wanna Wright of Henrietta; grandchildren, Blake Wilson of Richardson, Corey Wilson of Arp, Zachary Brigance of Arp, Kaley Brigance of Arp, Kylie Turner of Austin and Lila Jones of Austin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
