Robert M. Pence

Robert Mitchel Pence, 74, of New Chapel Hill, went home to be with his Lord on January 23, 2021, in Tyler, Texas. He was born March 6, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Brewer and Evelyn Mitchel Pence.

He was retired from Pence Insurance Group. He was a member and deacon of Sharon Baptist Church, New Chapel Hill. Bob was also a New Orleans police officer for 7 years. The owner and operator of Wings Tour Travel. He was also very proud to be a school bus driver and retired from Chapel Hill ISD after 17 years of service. He loved the Lord, his family, and friends with all of his heart.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Donna Lynn Hofer.

Survivors include his wife Fran Pence of New Chapel Hill; daughters, Janee’ Kibbons  and husband Scott of McCombs, MS, Holly McDowell and husband Benny of Amite, LA, Michelle Pence of Denham Springs, LA, Jonathan Pence and wife Vilma of Lakewood, CO, and step-son, Jeff Clark and wife Janice of Boyd, TX; brother-in-law, Tom Hofer of New Orleans, LA; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Sharon Baptist Church in New Chapel Hill.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle-Pearson Funeral Home, Overton.
