Robert Roland Thomas

Robert Roland Thomas, 84, passed away peacefully at Bluebonnet Point Wellness Center on September 11, 2024.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Thomas; his mother, Hattie Lura Heaton Thomas; brother, Sampson David Thomas; sisters, Frances Thomas Ritter and JoAnn Thomas Nunley, and nephew, David Wayne Thomas. He is survived by his son Marshall Thomas and wife Sarah, daughter Marie Pierson and husband Todd, grandchildren Tyler Pierson, Neil Thomas, and Ashley Pierson, and many nieces and nephews.

Bob was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He joined the navy upon high school graduation, then dedicated his life to a 50-year career at Kelly Springfield in Tyler, Texas. He was a member of the Shriners International men’s organization and his hobbies included photography, leisure flying as a private licensed pilot, fishing, hunting, and traveling.

Bob's family wishes to acknowledge the doctors, nurses and caregivers at Bluebonnet Point Wellness and Hospice of East Texas whose attentive and compassionate care sustained Bob in his final days.

A family memorial service will be held at Cottle Funeral Home, 105 East Bradford Street, Troup, Tx 75789 on September 13, 2024, at 11:00am.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cottle Funeral Home, Troup.
